Underneath the Myths

I emphatically deny myself
from being reduced to body, desire, womb
even though She and the System cling to the contrary
and invite me to begin the daily battle
to occupy a place in the eyes of others
the being of others, serving others,
even when in their desperate monologues
they turn me into a child of deception, a woman
of deception
an image that I've mulled over for years
swallowed for so many others
finally vomiting.
Goodbye, the complacent woman isn't here anymore
Goodbye forever
I'm not a woman to be oppressed
to be locked up
to be embarrassed
to be ignored
yes, I am Woman
though according to you and the majority
I am not.

-------------------
When Fear Inhabits Me

I empty my hands
an abysmal loss from the intangible body of light
in their place
they fill up with the air from the torn moon's tomb
never ending dreams hungry for darkness.
My hands transfigure into a fleeting night
echoes of madness blend into death.
Thanatos calls me to rest between the rotting
one step away from nothingness
to lie next to the bold intangibility
of an exodus caused by fear.
