Cyclical Hunt by Andrés Alfaro
She is awakening…
Hundreds of robins take wing
The sky is stretching off the sleep
That had paralyzed it
-----
Cyclical Hunt
The shy beast stretches her brilliant claws toward
The last defenses of the chill night air
She has been dormant for too long.
She is awakening…
Hundreds of robins take wing
The sky is stretching off the sleep
That had paralyzed it
And woven it away for too long.
She is coming…
Electric tentacles are sparkling
Upon the dew soaked country grass
It quivers in the tireless struggle
That has occupied it for too long.
She is prowling…
Ant colonies burst into action
Tiny cellular urgency drives the engines
That spark the revolt
That has dominated them for too long.
She is rising…
It’s a bitter reunion
For the decrepit old man
Who wallows in his misery and
Who once again has overstayed his welcome
For far too long.
She is pouncing…
The dreary monotony has shattered over
Volcanic waters
Chaotic, riotous and frenzied.
Harmony has sprung upon life.
