The Persian (Farsi ) translation of Levy-Bruhl's Les fonctions mentales dans les sociétés inférieures has been published (Tehran ,Hermes ,May 2010).The translator of the book is Yadollah Moughen who is the translator of Cassirer's The Philosophy of Symbolic Forms :Mythical Thought and many other Cassirer's books as well. Moughen has written a book about Levy-Bruhl entitled Lucien Levy- Bruhl and The Problem of Mentalities.(Tehran ,Daftare Pajohesh haye Farhanghi,May, 2010 ).

Moughen has written a book about Levy-Bruhl entitled: Lucien Levy- Bruhl and The Problem of Mentalities, (Tehran ,Daftare Pajohesh haye Farhanghi, May, 2010 ). In that book Moughen traces Levy-Bruhl 's theories back to August Comte and especially to Giambatista Vico and argues that E. Cassirer, Jean Piaget, Vigotsky, Snell, Cornford, W. Albright (orientalist), H.Frakfort( orientalist) and many other scholars have been influenced by Levy-Bruhl's ideas. Moughen believes that Levy-bruhl's theories can help us to understand better fundametalists' mentalities around the world and it is time to return to Levy-Bruhl's theories in order to be able to do so. By comparing the original French text with its English translation the Persian translator has found many discrepancies, especially with respect to the referred pages of some of the references. For instance in the French text (p.280 ) footnote no.1 we read: James Mooney, The Sacred Formulas of the Cherokees, E.B. Rep.,V11,P. 374-5. but in the English translation we read: James Mooney, The Sacred Formulas of the Cherokees, E.B. Rep.,V11, P.83. Is Levy-Bruhl right or English trandlator? On page 281 (footnote no. 1) of the French text we read: R. Tylor, Te ika a maui, p.197-200, but in the English translation we read: R. Tylor, Te ika a maui, p.83-86. Which one is correct? The English translator has missed a few lines here and there: for instance she has missed four lines on page 172 (section C) of the
French text, and most strangely, we see in the French text from p.170 to p.173 that the references are to: Dobrizhoffer, An Account of the Abipone, but in the English translation the references are to A. Gatschet, The Klamath Language, but with the same page numbers. Is Levy- Bruhl correct or English translator?
