Decision by Pooyan Sadeghi
It has been, what, almost three years since I plunged into this hard earned path.
"You have to wake up soon; you have so many patients to round on."
And I am tired. It's bizarre, though. I love it. This life, not just medicine, but this life…my life. You know, a decision was made. When? How many days ago? Or should I say, how many centuries ago? Not by anything as imprisoned as a god, but this world of cause and effect. Bounded, yet infinite. We will see it one day. Not just me, or you, or the other guy. All of us. Free people, exercising our freedom and power – wanting what is best because we know it's right. We can still have that. We must, we cannot fail. So much depends on the decisions we make. All the decisions we make. We are the decisions we make. Why do I repeat that? Because I want you to remember, it's what you do – what you choose to destroy, and what you choose to build – that makes you who you are. And know, I will always think of you as me. For you feel the pain in your heart too, if even for a moment.
