Betting on Hope
translated by: Anthony Robbins
Betting on Hope 04-08-06
Not to hide away on a happy island
Refusing to take notice of the terror
That all around is multiplied and floods the world.
In four weeks’ time, united together
Palestinians and Israeli Jews
Will be playing at the Scala in a concert.
To go and hear them I’ve booked some seats
Betting on hope although it’s hard.
-------------------------
Never the Worst
1-Making plans with thoughts
Aims ends reasons lightly
To be discussed offered repaid
Transmuting to wind war and history,
restoring to humans laughter and tears
of oneself with the others in prospect,
not seeking other goals, accepting them
for the best in them, never seeing the worst
fleeing from evil to what is possible.
----------------------
1-Staying with myself amid the trees
watching mountains and pylons in the sky
progress skyscrapers in the world
that is changing backward and onward.
2-Living the life as it happens
without projects nor thoughts
with calm enthusiasm giving breath
to oneself and to others in the possible.
3-Life many journey just one journey
each thread person woman man
intertwine twist ruffle undo
in windy waste without pollen
or the future retorts ropes and cords.
4-Time makes days very long
to those who wait for nothing
and get amazed at the variegated
progress receiving them
Oretta Dalle Ore's poetry employs the language at the best of its possibilities: it is a map of the soul. The truth of her lines belongs to the wrld of imagination, it is the texture of the vision opening a window onto the reader's inner life.
6-Sun stars and moon around the world
with planes missiles satellites
renovating time and nature.
One tenth of a day Persia-Italy
7-An entangling and mortifying past
of glory of pain of servitude
of horrors of beauty of ruins
upsetting far unrepeatable.
